The ESA Knowledge Management Team is pleased to host the 3rd International Conference on Managing Knowledge for Space Missions to be held at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany, 21-23 June 2010.
This will be the third time that such a conference takes place but it is for the first time in Europe. The main purpose of this event is to give to international organizations, industries, companies, institutions and universities the opportunity to present and discuss their Knowledge Management programmes and projects. Moreover, the event aims to highlight new technology applications and promoting collaboration across international entities in the field of knowledge capture, sharing and preservation.
The conference’s focus is on Knowledge Management (KM) topics for the aerospace community. However, the findings and recommendations could be also relevant to different sectors and this is especially addressed in the dedicated track, 'Knowledge Management for Integrated Applications'.
OBJECTIVES
* Establish a forum for global aerospace community to discuss current activities in Knowledge Management and share best practices
* Share and bring focus to applied Knowledge Management activities, tools and processes oriented towards space missions
* Formulate recommendations for further Knowledge Management activities
The Conference will focus on the strategies and activities the different organizations and companies have followed over the last years for implementing Knowledge Management systems. During the Conference, the participants can discuss the different perspectives and ideas on Knowledge Management, be able to learn of the efforts that the other companies are undertaking in Knowledge Management and engage in networking opportunities. The intent is to build a community of practice on different topics of Knowledge Management.
