HomeFront and the University of Calgary Faculty of Social Work are proud to co-host the second annual, Canadian Domestic Homicide Prevention Conference in Calgary, Alberta on June 9-11, 2010: A Conference to Enhance Research, Practice Collaboration & Prevent Domestic Homicides. With a national and international focus, this two-day conference brings together presenters with a wide array of knowledge and current research to enhance strategies in the prevention of domestic homicides to western Canada.
Keynote speaker Dr. Neil Websdale, award winning author and sociologist, will explore the recent escalation in familicide in our society. Joined by renowned experts from across the country, the conference will focus on risk factors, intervention strategies and share practical knowledge and tools to assess and prevent this increasingly common form of domestic homicide.
HomeFront is celebrating our tenth year as Calgary’s coordinated community-justice response to domestic violence. We are honoured to host this exclusive conference to enhance collaboration amongst social science researchers, policy makers and practitioners (health, police, crown, corrections, child protection and anti-violence community agencies) in their review of domestic homicides across western Canadian provinces and territories.

The second annual, Canadian Domestic Homicide Prevention Conference will be held at the MacEwan Conference and Event Centre, University of Calgary.
