Description
There is no Man on this Eath who is incompetend and there is no plant which is of no Medicinal use. Where everything is present, infact, a man to manage them properly is seldom availabe". During the past decade,demand for medicinal plants and its productions as well as traditional health system attracted the worldwide interest. India, being the Botanical Garden and Treasure house of Biodiversity with is diverse ecological conditions, rich ethnic diversity and a strong traditional knowledge base, accounts for 45000 plant species, out of which more than 8000 speies are used in some 10000 herbal drug formulations. In Asia, medicinal plants are an essential part of traditional health care systems. The objectives of the researchers are to conserve the medicinal plant species, validate the traditinal practices and to derive useful products in pharmacare using modern technology. The symposium would help in promoting exchage of knowledge among the fellow researches in medicinal plant research.
