Key-notes and paper presentations will be dedicated to exploring the ways in which individuals and communities experience, react to, support, or resist social change in all instances of everyday life and human interaction. This generous topic invites both theoretical and practical contributions, capable of providing us valuable insight into the mechanisms of transformation and innovation in today’s society.

This theme expresses a core preoccupation of social scientists, and will allow an exploration of how social and psychological variables can contribute to the understanding and explanation of pressing contemporary social problems.

The six streams for break-out sessions are:

• Health and Development
• Social and Cultural Psychology
• Organisational Psychology
• Social Cognition
• Communication and the Public Sphere
• Developmental Social Psychology

Symposia should be submitted with a joint abstract (250 words), followed by a brief description of each individual presentation (150 words). All individual abstracts should not exceed 250 words.

Please submit your contributions via email to lsecamconf@psych.lse.ac.uk, with your name, academic institution and selected stream, no later than 5th March, 2010, 5:00 pm GTM.
