CALL FOR PAPER AND PARTICIPATION
3rd International Conference on â€˜ASEAN Media Freedomâ€™
19 May 2010, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok, Thailand
ASEAN Mass Communication Studies and Research Centre (AMSAR), School of Communication Arts, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce is organising an annual international conference entitled â€œASEAN Media Freedom,â€ to be held on 19 May 2010 at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
The theme of the conference is ASEAN media freedom. Various perspectives which are related to the theme such as law, politics, media and communication policy, sociology and cultural studies of media, gender, new media, and censorship are welcome. We are also interested in the historical as well as current aspects. The conference aims to provide a stage for international scholars to exchange their views and develop the knowledge on the contribution of ASEAN Media. The conference will also seek to stimulate further debates on the topic. Although focus is given to ASEAN countries, papers discussing the media freedom of countries in Asia are also welcome.

Contributors are exempt from registration fee. Participants are subject to a charge of 500 Baht. Undergraduate Students with a valid ID card: 100 Baht/ Postgraduate Student: 250 Baht
Â¾ AMSAR conference is being held on a limited budget and we regret that no funds are available for scholarships. All contributors are responsible for his or her own travel, accommodation and other expenses. We are however happy to recommend accommodation nearby the conference venue if needed.

Â¾ Papers presented at the conference will be published in AMSAR annual proceeding and on AMSAR website.
