Since the first event was held in 2002, the event had grown in stature and is now a major meeting place of the who’s who of micro lending in South Africa. Over the years more than 500 delegates have attended the biennial summit.
This year it was decided to focus the entire programme on technology. It is a fresh approach which we think will appeal to delegates. The evolving role of technology demands constant attention to latest developments, and the aim of the programme is to highlight issues which will enlighten delegates on making their micro lending operations more profitable.
Technology in the micro finance industry varies from smart cards, payment systems and telecommunication technologies to on-line banking, mobile technology, various software innovations, is changing the face of how financial institutions and micro finance companies are doing business.
With the line up of seventeen speakers and a panel discussion, the delegates will be kept on their feet with the intriguing topics from the high profile speaker. Speaker panel include personnel such as Frank Lenisa, Director of Compuscan; Susie Lonie, Executive Head of Vodacom Mobile Money; James van Dyk, Senior Solutions Consultant of TransUnion and Sampie Pienaar, Managing Director of Altech Nupay.
