NABWMT Announces â€œDiverseâ€ 2010 Celebration Waves
Milwaukee, WI - April 26, 2010 - Coordinated by NABWMT, DIVERSE 2010, scheduled for July 26th- 31st in Fort Lauderdale Fl, represents a partnership of community and faith based organizations, businesses, and others from around the country formed specifically to produce the event. Coinciding with the 30th Anniversary convention of the gay multi-cultural organization, the event will feature a 3 â€œWaveâ€ or tracks designed to facilitate itâ€™s chapter networkâ€™s viability, offer empowerment sessions and workshops highlighted by the groups notable anti-racism mandate, The Bush-Mallon Institute for Social Justice, as well as, expand social networking opportunities of registrants. Culminating throughout the 6 day event will also be receptions, panel discussions, cultural arts, movies, nightclub events and a Diversity Day Ft. Lauderdale involving the local community in scheduled activities. An estimated 500 participants are expected to attend throughout the weeks festivities.
Background: Organized in 1980, the eventâ€™s sponsor, the National Association of Black and White Men Together: A Gay Multiracial Organization for All People (NABWMT), is one of the largest multi-cultural groups in the United States with affiliated chapters in 20 cities which identify as Black and White Men Together (BWMT), Men of All Colors Together (MACT) or People of All Colors Together (PACT) in keeping with the cultural dynamics of their respective communities. The event is produced and coordinated by the DIVERSE 2010 Convention Planning Committee, under the auspices of the NABWMT (an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit serving the national LGBTQ Community).
