Bloomberg quoted Anand Balasubrahmanyan, Director to Carlyle Group, the world’s second biggest private equity company. Anand is among many investors who have recently boosted their confidence and interest in Indonesia, the world’s 4th most populous country.

They have strong reasons. The Centre for Asia Private Equity Research predicted Private Equity investment in Indonesia to rise to some $1 billion in 2010, from $570 million in 2009. The growth is further backed up by a proactive approach by the Indonesian government to attract FDI. The Investment Coordinating Board BKMP, led by Gita Wirjawan, has projected foreign direct investment to increase to 30-35 billion USD over the next four years, with a growth rate of 15% in 2010 alone.
