International Conference on Business Cases 2010 (ICBC2010)

A business case is a description of an actual situation or an event involving issues, problems, and conflicts requiring a resolution or decision making. A well developed case is typically a record of business issues, and a historical and clinical study of a situation evolving in an organization because of the change dynamics in external or internal environment.
Institute of Management Education (IME), Sahibabad (India), a premier institute in post graduate management education organized an international conference on business cases (ICBC2009) on November 26-27, 2009 at its Sahibabad campus near New Delhi. A large number of business cases were presented by scholars from the US, France, Japan, Canada, Australia, Thailand, UK, and India. More than thirty of those cases are being published in well known international journals such as Emeraldâ€™s Management Decision, Inderscienceâ€™s International Journal of Technology Marketing and American Journal of Economics and Business Administration.
Emboldened by the success of ICBC2009, IME and School of Public Policy, George Mason University, Virginia (USA) will be organizing the International Conference on Business Cases 2010(ICBC2010) to be held at IME campus Sahibabad (India) on December 2-3, 2010. With a major theme of enhancement of organizational performance, the business cases for ICBC2010 can encompass facets of organization development, management of technology, knowledge management, diversification, acquisition, new ventures, corporate governance, business ethics, social responsibility, Integration, outsourcing, business level marketing strategies, family business management, and change management .
Only original, unpublished cases related to real life events and situations are solicited. Cases with disguised and fictitious names are not encouraged. Virtual or in-absentia submissions or presentations of cases are not welcome. At least one of the authors should be present for presentation of the case at the conference.
The accepted cases will be published by Macmillan India in a book form and will be formally released at the inaugural function on December 2. A copy of the book will be provided to all delegates.

* Emerald has also sponsored an award for the best case in family business management. This case must be in line with the coverage of the Journal of Family Business Management .The winning paper would be published in the journal and receive a free online subscription to the journal.
