The second Innovative Industries Conference promises to help local businesses build the future they want by highlighting local, regional and global challenges. It is being held in Caloundra, Sunshine Coast on September 16th and 17th. Michael Groom kicks off the conference with a breakfast keynote presentation. Unquestionably one of the world’s great mountaineers who climbed the globe’s five highest peaks – including Everest – without bottled oxygen or Sherpas; Roger La Salle, Engineer, Entrepreneur and innovation expert; Bianca Nogrady, author of The Sixth Wave; Jeff Lancaster, author of ‘Innovation by Design,’; Captain Chris Smallhorn, Royal Australian Navy, who will address innovation in aviation; and many more. Tom Haynes – Director of ‘Create Innovation’ will speak on Thursday and also conduct a ‘Brain Stampede’ master class and action forum on Friday to help delegates hone their business plan to tomorrow’s realities.

Conference Chairman Randy Lagerway said, ‘Sustainable growth is not a catchphrase. We need to compete in a new business climate based on sustainability, expensive utilities, resource scarcity and carbon offsets. Presenters will share knowledge of vital trends, ideas and must do’s for long term business survival. Everyone will have the chance to network and engage with speakers, and share ideas with other attendees, government representatives and leaders in support services. To have this many experts in their fields in one building will create an energetic buzz never seen before on the Sunshine Coast.’

‘If you are in business, don’t let the future ambush you. Taking a day off to attend the conference might be difficult. But not knowing what’s around the corner can have devastating consequences,’ said Loretta Searchfield. ‘If it helps you see further down the road to the bigger picture, it could determine where your business will be next year, five years from now, and well into the future. Who would miss a chance like that?’
