A higher number of students utilizing campus counseling services. More severe psychological distress among students. Higher rates of psychotropic medication use by students. All of these conditions considered together implore campus leaders to protect and prepare their campus for possible emergencies.

Using many examples, this webcast will discuss how campus administrators and student wellness staffers can be proactive in modifying policies and procedures to make their campus better prepared while remaining compliant with the ADA and other federal and state laws. In addition, participants will receive handouts with suggestions for how to effectively develop internal policies and website resources concerning these topics.

Senior and mid-level student affairs administrators, academic advising administrators, student health center staff, residence life staff, academic deans, campus legal counsel, and those who work with students with disabilities will benefit from this practical approach to outline ways to better support students.
