Event Date/Time: Aug 11, 2010
End Date/Time: Aug 11, 2010
Against a backdrop of continued pressure on fees and the inexorable rise of alternative billing arrangements, this year’s professional support lawyer masterclass will examine how PSLs can help their firms not only survive, but also thrive, in this challenging environment. This unique event will look in particular at the link between KM and profit, and the relationship between the KM and Finance functions in a law firm. The emphasis will be on using KM to contribute to business – helping to win work, maintaining quality and managing risk and improving (or at least protecting) profit margins by streamlining working practices, improving matter management and supporting fee earners as they price and budget for transactions. This event will explore how this can best be done, through case studies and practical examples, suggestions and discussion. PSLs who attend the day will leave with a better understanding of the operation of a law firm as a business and its key profitability drivers, and how they can contribute to its success.
This year’s masterclass will be lead by Harriet Creamer, Director, Outer Circle and Lucy Dillon, Director of Knowledge Management, Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP. It will be more informal and interactive than in previous years – the emphasis will be on case studies, practical examples and discussion – so that delegates have a real opportunity to exchange ideas and consolidate their thinking on these important topics.
One-day masterclass, £495+VAT. London.
