London, 21 July 2010 - International consulting firm BroadGroup has announced the launch of 5th Power and Cooling for Data Centres forum that will take place 7-8 October 2010, in London (www.datacentres.com/pac)

BroadGroup research has found that Power represents an average of 56% of operating cost across Data Centres, amplified in a recent survey conducted by the group, which revealed cost reduction as the number one objective of data centre operators in the next financial year. This annual event will showcase new innovations that will help to reduce cost for users, and increase green efficiency in data centres.

In a content-led programme packed with insight and the very latest information, the conference will assess the most innovative range of solutions and technologies that claim to bring green solutions to the data centre.

Expertise drawn from both North America and Europe which includes key speakers announced - Joe Polastre, Chief Technology Officer, Sentilla Corporation, Simon Wheeldon, CEO CloudApps, Stephane Duproz, Managing Director, Telecity France, Roy Zeighami, Power and Cooling specialist at CISCO - will contribute to the discussion of critical topics that inform the power and cooling debate. Power and Cooling dominates the agenda for all data centres worldwide, and what measures are available now to reduce both consumption and carbon emissions as well as increase cooling capacity will be central to the challenge.

The event also features an exhibition showcasing current and new technologies that offer green power and cooling solutions.

“Power and cooling remain core challenges for data centre users and owners alike,” commented Steve Wallage, managing director of BroadGroup Consulting. “This flagship forum attracts wide international attention because it assembles expertise and acquires a highly targeted audience. As new pressures mount with new legislative mandates, data centres are totally focused on reducing cost to ensure compliance but also competitiveness.”
