Description

The long-awaited revision of Incoterms 2000, two and a half years in preparation, will enter info force on 1 January 2011. The revision, the first in ten years, contains many changes to rules which apply to billions of dollars of business transactions for the sale of goods each year.

Objective
For ICC’s series of Masterclasses, Charles Debattista, Arbitrator, Stone Chambers, London; Professor of Commercial Law, University of Southampton, United Kingdom, Christoph Martin Radtke, Partner, Lamy & Associés, France; Koen Vanheusden, Legal Director, Belgium Foreign Trade Agency, Belgium and Emily O’Connor, Senior Policy Manager, ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice, Paris will take you through the new rules and demonstrate through case-studies the major changes and processes that you and your colleagues will need to know in your day-to-day practice.

Working methods
This programme will consist of five different masterclasses to cover questions concerning the newly structured Incoterms® 2010 rules. Participants will be divided into groups of no more than 10 persons to discuss the various case-studies, providing an opportunity and incentive for active discussion on practical problems.

By the end of course, all the new Incoterms® 2010 rules will have been covered by each participant. Classes will be led by ICC’s leading Incoterms® experts, each of whom has been responsible for making revisions and to responding to queries about Incoterms.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants at the end of the 1.5 days.
