Iswar Saran Degree College a constituent college of the University of Allahabad offers undergraduate degree courses in Arts, Commerce and Science streams besides, various other job oriented, professional, Add-on and Self Finance certificate courses. It has a vast serene, vibrant campus with various student support and progression facilities in a desirable academic ambience. It promises to play a crucial role to generate manpower to meet the goals and needs of the nation.

The city of Allahabad is situated at the holy confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Saraswati with rich and fabulous legacy of religion, education and freedom movement. It is a centrally located placed linked by rail, road and air with frequent connectivity at 200 kms. from Lucknow and 125 kms from Varanasi airport. During the month of November the city has a moderate temperature around 25 degree.

The world is facing what may be the first truly global economic crisis. The financial meltdown that began on Wall Street has become a crisis that reaches deep into the globally integrated financial and trading systems, posing very serious challenges for countries around the world. India's vastly diverse economies also have experienced the fallout in different ways, all of which are testing political, economic and social structures across the region. India, like all other countries of the world, is facing its share of the blistering effects of this crisis. But as always, all adverse situations spring up challenges and opportunities.
Faculty of Commerce, Iswar Saran Degree College is organizing a two day seminar on 27th & 28th November 2010 with an objective to provide a common platform to academicians, practitioners and policy makers to develop a comprehensive perspective of how the financial crisis is affecting regional economies, how countries are responding nationally, and what countries are doing together.
We invite research papers from the University Faculty, Researchers, Administrators, Politicians, Bankers, Policy Analysis and other serious researchers on Indian Economy on the following sub themes:
1. Characteristics of Global Economic Crisis
2. Global economic crisis and Institutional Framework
3. Global economic crisis on Specific Sectors of Indian Economy - Imports, Exports,
Foreign Exchange, Industry, Service Sector, Infrastructure, Tourism etc.
4. Global economic crisis and the Opportunities for Enterprises.
5. Global economic crisis and Science and Technology.
6. Global economic crisis and Sustainable Growth.
7. Challenges, Opportunities and Future Scenarrio in India
8. Global economic crisis and India's Role in Multilateral Economic Institutions.
9. Global economic crisis and Outsourcing
10. Global economic crisis and Implications on rural economy.
The paper must be original and not have been presented or submitted for presentation at any other conference/seminars. All submissions will be reviewed before acceptance for presentation. The author must register for the seminar in order to present papers. Only those papers that are submitted as complete, reach the organizer by the due date, and are registered to be presented, will be published in the book form which will be available during the seminar. Authors are requested to provide non-exclusive copyrights of their paper to the seminar organizers to ensure consideration for such a publication.
Soft copy of manuscripts, not exceeding 2500 words, typed in MS word, Times New Roman font, size 12 should be submitted through email to or Dr. A.K. Agarwal, Organizing Secretary at or Dr. A.K. Srivastava, Convener, at or Hard copies or CDs. The cover page should bear only the title of the paper, author/s' names, designations official addresses, Phone/fax numbers and e-mail/CDs. Abstract of about 250 words and key-words should be given at the start of the paper.
