Cluj Napoca, the main economic centre in Transylvania, attracts large domestic and foreign investments. Cluj County is accounting for 36% of the construction works in the North-West Region and 5,8% at national level. Approximately 70% of the total investments in the area formed by Cluj, Alba, Bistrita-Nasaud and Maramures counties take place in Cluj city.
Many important businesses are placed in Cluj Napoca, a privileged city from the geographical point of view which is placed on the 2nd position in Romania for the economic development potential it holds. The American Embassy in Bucharest has given Cluj the title of "5 Star City" due to the simplification of the bureaucratic procedures in the local administration.
Cluj has several economic advantages that distinguish it from other cities in the country: a well-developed banking sector, an important number of active SME, large investment volume, qualified work force, increased capacity in high-tech economic fields, dynamic and motivated business community.
Companies from the construction industry come every year at CAMEX Cluj-Napoca to meet both specialists and the general public from the central and north-western part of the country. CAMEX Cluj-Napoca is promoted throughout the following counties: Cluj, Alba, Bistrita Nasaud, Maramures, Satu Mare and Bihor.
