The Caribbean Institute of Nephrology, Department of Medicine, University of the West Indies is proud to host the 3rd International Conference on Nephrology and Hypertension in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After two successful years the Institute is very pleased to be able to extend its offering to four (4) days of insightful and informative presentations. The 2011 conference will be once again held at the Rose Hall Resort & Spa, A Hilton Resort, between January 27 – 30 which coincides exactly with the popular Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, thus allowing participants the opportunity to relax after work at this world renown event.

We sincerely look forward to your seeing you again this year and urge you to register and book your hotel early.

Programme of Activities

The programme of activities for the Conference has been designed to cover several important areas in the field of Nephrology and Hypertension, as well as to introduce the most recent research and ground-breaking information available. Topics to be discussed will include haematuria, hypertension in pregnancy, dermatology in kidney disease, peripheral vascular disease , malignancies in transplant patients and several others.

Based on requests for increased topics as well we have found it necessary to extend the conference by one day and so it will now go for four days, however there will still be plenty of time for professional interaction between delegates which will encourage building of important relationships and the strengthening of international bonds. In addition there will be opportunity for participants to relax after each days work as the sessions will be finished by latest 4 pm.

The presentations will all take place in the main lecture hall. There will be no parallel lectures so delegates will be able to attend all presentations. Several themes have been chosen and topics have been arranged under each theme.
Presentations will start at 8: 30 am each day and will finish between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, depending on the number of topics to be presented. Delegates should consult the website for updates as well as listings of the exact topics.
Each day will start with a State of the Art Lecture to which all delegates are invited, as these lectures will present cutting -edge research and new information.
