Collaborative contracts are used extensively across Australasia in public and private infrastructure. Designed to drive innovation and high performance, collaborative contracts are rapidly developing and becoming increasingly diverse.
The collaborative process allows for openness, trust and the alignment of interests between clients and contractors. However new collaborative delivery models means new challenges uncommon to traditional modes of contracting.
Establishing a strong commercial framework and achieving commercial alignment is essential to allow the collaborative culture of a project to thrive. This conference will demonstrate how the commercial aspects of the contract can be successfully aligned with VFM models to deliver the best project outcomes.
Collaborative Contracting 2011 provides an excellent opportunity to look at lessons learnt, successes and challenges of current alliances and alternative contracts. It will bring together perspectives from the client and the contractor, as well as leading academic research, to examine the issues in governance, innovation, VFM and community engagement through collaborative delivery.
This conference is beneficial to those already working in a collaborative contract and also to those new to the sector who are keen to take hold of the opportunities that alliancing, ECIs and relationship contracting has to offer.
