The goal of this activity is to address the following gaps in general primary care medicine 1)With over 50% of the greater than 7 million high school sports participants sustaining an injury medical attention and/or time away from sports, general primary care physicians report a need to improve their ability to appropriately evaluate, diagnose, and manage the acute sports injury in their active patients. 2) The athletic pre-participation physical examination is the only routine health care received by 80% – 90% or adolescents. Guidelines regarding the pre-participation physical examination are often not followed.
