Lockout/Tagout is regularly in the top 10 most cited standards in general industry by OSHA. The majority of the citations are the result of a lack of energy control procedures. OSHA in previous years has issued on an individual year 3,905 citations to employers, which generated over 5.9 million in initial penalties. Also, employees injured from exposure to hazardous energy lose an average of 24 workdays.
This OSHA course will help understand how to ensure employer/employee protection, provide training requirements, and what OSHA looks for in an inspection. It will discuss how Employers must establish a program consisting of energy control procedures, employee training and periodic inspections.
