Following the tradition established by the BIANISOTROPICS meetings, PLASMETA'11, 1st International Conference on Electrodynamics of complex Materials for Advanced Technologies, 21-26 September 2011, Samarkand - Uzbekistan, will be the first edition of high-level scientific workshops with a focused theme at the cutting-edge of research. PLASMETA'11 will bring together young researchers and established scientists to discuss, through several introductory and specific lectures, the topic under study: Electromagnetic & Nanophotonic Materials. Special attention will be given to applications of these innovative materials in modern technologies.
The purpose of the conference is to analyze the most recent research results as well as discussing and planning future developments. The event will be organized in plenary sessions (no parallel sessions) and poster sessions. The majority of speakers are among those researchers who publish the most recent leading articles on the topic concerned.
PLASMETA'11 topics include, but are not limited to:
- Metamaterials, negative index materials
- Plasmonics and nanophotonics
- Biophotonic materials
- Photonic crystals
- Chiral and bianisotropic materials
Theory and Modelling of structured, periodic and disordered media
Frequency selective structures and high impedance surfaces
Near-field optics and nano-optics
- Technologies and applications: nanofabrication, active plasmonic components, cloaking, plasmonics for health, nanoantennas, nanoscale imaging, optical sensing, optical data storage...
Everybody is welcome to attend, and young researchers, master students, PhD students and postdocs are specially encouraged to do so. If you are interested in participating, send a message to the organizers to get further information.
