The 4th International Convention on Colorants (COC) will be held on 19th and 20th January 2011 at The Club, Andheri, Mumbai. This biennial event, organized jointly by Department of Dyestuff Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology and The Dyestuff Manufacturers’ Association of India, provides a platform to industry professionals, academicians, manufacturers and application specialists for exchanging knowledge, generating new ideas, identifying and solving issues, and debating future trends and possibilities in the colorants field.

The way colors are made and applied has undergone a sea change over the last two decades. Applications of colorants have evolved and expanded to include lasers, solar cells and biological sensors, just to name a few. While USA and Europe continue to be the major markets for colorants, new markets are slowly but surely developing all across the globe. Simultaneously, manufacturing continues to shift to China and India. There is relentless pressure on prices, and an equally relentless pressure on making manufacturing processes sustainable. The world economy is picking up albeit in the backdrop of a nervous Euro zone.

COC-11 will attempt to address these issues with Color and Coloration as the central theme. It will offer an overview of novel technologies, cutting-edge research, emerging trends and new applications. As has been in the past, it will feature experts from across the globe. More than 200 delegates are expected to attend this convention, several of them from outside India, and hence there will be a great opportunity to make new contacts and renew old ones.

This convention will be immensely beneficial to entrepreneurs, marketing and manufacturing professionals, R&D scientists and university researchers.
