On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the International Green Energy Conference (IGEC-VI), which will be held in Eskisehir, Turkey on June 5-9, 2011.

We would first like to provide some information on the previous International Green Energy Conferences;

The first conference (IGEC-1) was chaired by Professor Xianguo Li in 2005. It was hosted by University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada and brought together more than 150 people from different backgrounds and countries, all of whom had a common interest in green energy.
It is followed by IGEC-2, in University of Ontario Institute of Technology Oshawa, Ontario, Canada in 2006. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer chaired that successful event.
In 2007, IGEC-3 moved to Sweden and hosted by Malardalen University. The chairs of the conference were Prof. Jinyue Yan and Prof. Erik Dahlquist.
The 4th Conference (IGEC-4) was organised in Beijing, China in 2008.
Finally; the Fifth Conference (IGEC-5) moved to Canada again and organised in University of Waterloo in 2010. The first IGEC chair Professor Xianguo Li was chaired this conference again.
The depletion of fossil fuel and concerns on global warming has increased the interest on alternative fuel and energy systems. In this regard, switching from fossil fuel to alternative energy sources such as biomass, geothermal, solar, wind, tides, and hydrogen; and utilize these energy sources in energy-efficient systems have become crucial. These systems have already started to replace with conventional systems in all kind of applications from portable power to stationary heating, cooling, and power generation. As we are in an era in which there is a continuous progress in green energy sources and technologies, we would like to invite researchers, scientists, engineers, practitioners, policy makers, and students to this international conference to exchange information, present new technologies and developments, and discuss the future direction, strategies and priorities in the field of green energy.

IGEC-VI will include several keynote presentations, specialized sessions, and oral and poster presentation sessions from the participants on different subjects related to green energy. We are also planning to organize an exhibition in which the industrial companies and research centers will be able to introduce their latest products on green energy.

Eskisehir is one of the most beautiful and modern cities of Turkey. It is an old, culturally developed province in north-western Turkey. It has a population of about 700,000. It also has 2 universities, Eskisehir Osmangazi University (ESOGU), and Anadolu University, which is the largest university in Turkey as well as one of the ten mega universities in the world.

We have planned several social events including visits to museums, parks, Turkish baths and other historical places such as Odunpazarı Houses, Haller Youth Center and Island of Lovers as well as meerschaum workshops. You will also have chance to taste delicious meals such as Çiğbörek.

We are very keen on making this conference a great success with its technical program and social events, which could be possible with your kind participation. We look forward to welcoming you to this remarkable event in June 2011.
