Description

The 31st PODIM Conference will gather experts from different countries to address numerous issues facing born-global companies and already established companies that aim at global market and whose growth is fuelled by international competition. Due to globalization a new type of entrepreneurship has developed. New global startups are increasingly looking around the globe for opportunities, funding, teams, partners and markets. To be successful in globalized world companies must go international. Some of them are international at inception and known by names such as as global start-ups, born globals, high technology start-ups, global high-tech firms, high-impact ventures or international new ventures. The others spinning out of the entrepreneurial activities of already established firms are regarded as international intrapreneurship or corporate entrepreneurship in global markets. Either one of them are facing challenges of mastering driving forces of globalization and creating successful cooperation with global stakeholders. These leading edge companies are dealing with many issues that need to be resolved to gain success at international markets. When businesses extend across the borders, they face many challenges sometimes completely different then at domestic markets, and entrepreneurs must be especially creative and resourceful.
