Distribution Automation 2011
Venue: London Olympia
|Event Date/Time: Apr 27, 2011||End Date/Time: Apr 28, 2011|
Utilities from different states and service areas up and down the country, at various stages of implementing automated systems, will come together to discuss statistical results, case studies and overall best practices on how to install and run an automated distribution system. They will be offering experiences on the economic justification of DA systems, how these systems have had a knock-on effect on reliability statistics and streamlined outage management operations, as well as the difference that DA has made to voltage control for smoothing of intermittent energy sources and protection of critical assets. They will also be evaluating strategies for getting the backbone of Distribution Automation in place, with a focus on the performance of communications including wireless and radio frequencies and the role of a DMS in managing data and operational controls. Technical field implementation case studies will be combined with more strategic views, to determine the most cost-effective options available to utilities when it comes to maximizing both the profitability and reliability of distribution operations.
