Accounting and Management Information Systems
to be held at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, on June 8-9, 2011.
Papers are invited in the broad areas of financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, financial analysis, management information systems and business law. Authors are invited to submit theoretical and empirical contributions, all submissions will be double-blind refereed.
A number of internationally recognized academics have already confirmed
their participation at the congress. Amongst them, we are proud to
announce the participation of Prof. Donna Street (University of Dayton,
USA, President of the IAAER), Prof. Mary Barth (Stanford University, USA,
present member of the IASB and the IAAERâ€™s Vice President for the liaison
with the IASB, the conference keynote speaker), Prof. David Alexander
(University of Birmingham, UK), Prof. Robert Faff (University of Queensland,
Australia), Prof. Allan Hodgson (University of Queensland, Australia).
Confirmations from a number of other esteemed academics are awaited and
will be announced soon.
We are extremely proud to announce for AMIS 2011 our collaboration with two internationally recognized bodies dedicated to the improvement of accounting research and practice, namely the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Also, AMIS is very proud to announce that following a very rigorous review process, the papers presented at AMIS 2010 (the 5th edition of the Conference) are now indexed in the â€œISI Web of Knowledgeâ€ ISI Conference Proceedings Database (please visit http://www.isiknowledge.com to find those papers).
The papers presented at AMIS 2011 will be made available to conference participants on a CD with ISBN. Should you not agree with this inclusion, please send an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The CD will be submitted for review at ISI Conference Proceedings. Considering the review outcome of the previous edition, thereâ€™s a good chance they will get indexed also.

Our objectives are to achieve an international reputation in higher education and research, and to develop the network of relationships with similar universities and professional accounting bodies: the Body of Expert and Licensed Accountants of Romania â€“ CECCAR, and Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania - CAFR.
In this context, starting 2005, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - ACCA awarded accreditation to our faculty for the undergraduate programme. Also, two masters programmes are accredited by or developed in association with international bodies such as the Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or the ACCA.
