Conference Highlights:
The conference emphasizes the importance of practical, objective and hands-on evaluation of the various devices. The first day focuses on the general concepts of laparoscopy and different types of minimally invasive surgical techniques. It provides instructive background on the concepts of the available to the practicing gynecologic surgeon. The second day concentrates on the specific concept of single incision laparoscopic surgical techniques and begins the practical applications of laparoscopic suturing and port placement. The various concepts are taught by didactic lectures, visual video examples, and actual practice with pelvic models. The final day gives attention to the "hands-on" evaluation of the various equipment components necessary in single incision laparoscopic surgery.

Conference Theme:
The conference is intended to comprehensively review various concepts of minimally invasive techniques in the field of gynecology. Seminars include the review of laparoscopic principles, anesthetic challenges in laparoscopy, classic multiport laparoscopy, various minimally invasive approaches of hysterectomies. In particular, the conference will focus on the concept of Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) and its technical applications in the field of gynecology.

Practitioners are presented with an overwhelming amount of devices, technologies and options solicited by the companies who sell the equipment. The conference will provide objective evaluations and presentations to the attendees. The workshops will enable the attendees to discern which devices they may prefer by means of handson workshops with side-by-side comparisons. The practical quality- driven tutorials will provide the attendees the knowledge base to make educated decisions about the type of equipment they may want to focus on in particular. Attendees will benefit multi-fold by efficiently having the options at their fingertips, at one convenient conference and actually trying the equipment.

Lectures will demonstrate superior patient satisfaction, shortened hospital stay, improved convalescence and increased practice profitability by the utilization of the new minimally invasive technologies with specific emphasis on single incision laparoscopic surgery.
