On 1 January 2011 a comprehensive revision of ICC's Incoterms rules applying to billions of dollars of business transactions came into force, a major step in helping international trade professionals ensure legal certainty and save both time and money. The newe revision, the first in a decade, reflects the profound trends and changes that have taken place in global trade and international commercial practices since 2000.

The result is a set of clearer, more precise and more comprehensive rules adapted for the 21st century that offer increased legal certainty in sales transactions between and within countries as well as within customs-free blocks. The rules will help traders avoid misunderstandings by clarifying the costs, risks, and responsibilities of both buyers and sellers, making it essential for professionals in international trade to clearly understand the new rules.

For ICC's series of Masterclasses, members of the ICC Incoterms Drafting Group and Advisory Groups will take you through the new rules and demonstrate through case-studies the major changes and processes that you and your colleagues will need to know in your day-to-day practice.

Working methods
This programme will consist of five different masterclasses to cover questions concerning the newly structured Incoterms® 2010 rules. Participants will be divided into groups of no more than 8 persons to discuss the various case-studies, providing an opportunity and incentive for active discussion on practical problems.

By the end of course, all the new Incoterms® 2010 rules will have been covered by each participant. Classes will be led by ICC's leading Incoterms® experts, each of whom has been responsible for making revisions and to responding to queries about Incoterms.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to all participants at the end of the 2 days.
