As global environment issues become increasingly serious, nuclear power enjoys its growing proportion in energy consumption. In China, the government is establishing New Energy Development Plan and the “Twelfth Five Year” Energy Plan with 34 nuclear power units (36.92 million KW) approved, including 25 units (27.73 million KW) under construction. China is now the global leading country with the most nuclear power projects under construction.



Nuclear power, as a clean energy with mature technology and economic reliability, would be an efficient alternative of fossil fuels, which will release the pollution issues and reduce CO2 emissions. The acceleration of nuclear power development is an essential in adjusting traditional energy structure. Nevertheless, there are also great focuses on some key factors such as safety, reliability and scientific planning during nuclear power development.



China Nuclear Power Development Summit is the first industrial stellar gathering after the newly issued policies.
