Newfoundland & Labrador's Offices of the ATIPP Coordinator and Information & Privacy Commissioner, as well as Memorial University's Information Access and Privacy Protection Office are proud to present the 6th Annual Newfoundland & Labrador Access & Privacy Workshop.

This year's theme is Managing the Future of Access & Privacy. We look to the community to continue building on the foundation its established with this one of a kind event; bridging the gap between Access & Privacy Professionals, and those new to the field

Maintaining the momentum generated by last year's revamped format, the NL A&P Workshop will offer, once again, a day and a half of plenary and breakout sessions, with optional workshops available to the eager learners, on the afternoon of May 17th, 2011.

This means that we are happy to offer you over 20 interactive sessions this year! Prepared by industry veterans along with real life case studies, attendees will be able to take away practical knowledge and real inspiration to give life to managing information access and privacy protection in their own organizations. Specifically this conference allows delegates to:

-Discuss, identify, and address the many challenges faced by managers of information in public and private sector institutions

-Learn from the wide range of expertise available to the public and private sectors, both internal and external to the ATIPP community

-Continue to examine and explore NL's PHIA Legislation

Hear from multiple jurisdictions, including those from the Province, the Federal Government and the municipalities of NL

Network with and build the Access and Privacy Community in Newfoundland & Labrador

Join your colleagues today and open doors to new and exciting ideas in the world of Access and Privacy!

We look forward to seeing you in St. John's on May 16th, 2011!

Additional Information

It is our greatest pleasure to present you the 2011 NL Access and Privacy Workshop agenda and keynote speaker: So You Think Your Data is Private: A Hacker's View of Privacy and Security Threats: Brad 'RenderMan' Haines is one of the more visible and vocal members of the wardriving community, appearing in various media outlets and speaking at conferences several times a year and providing a 'min-blowing' experience. RenderMan is usually nearby on any wardriving and wireless security news, often causing it himself. His skills have been learned in the trenches working for various IT companies as well as his involvement through the years with the hacking community. He is also the author of several security books, most recently '7 Deadliest wireless technologies attacks' from Syngress. The 2011 sessions include many exciting topics such as (but not limited to): * OIPC Survey Results (incl. ATIPPA 101) * Personal Health Information Act * Severing * Commissioner's Office 101 * Baby Steps: Building a program to support secondary uses of personal health information * And much more! Optional Workshops (afternoon of Day 2) * Functional Classification: Let's Cut to the Chase * Do it Fast. Do it Right. The Art of Severing. For the full agenda of this "must-see" event, please visit
