If you are involved in projects that are competitively bid, you must attend this workshop! In Part One, John Devine (workshop presenter) will help attendees better understand the “Design-BID-Build” delivery method for construction contracts. Presented in a humorous way, he will demonstrate to attendees the high level of excitement, stress and tension that is always present in the contractor’s office on Bid Day, the issues contractors encounter when bidding on projects and how such problems can be eliminated and lower bids can be received in the process. In Part Two of the workshop, Mr. Devine will show examples of actual bid documents, pointing out how they do, or do not, meet the “Four C’s” of communications. He will show the actual results of these actual bid projects, demonstrating what a huge effect the way something is worded has on the contractors’ prices. Attendees will learn how to prepare plans and specifications in such a way as to ensure that all the bidders will be bidding on the same scope of work, resulting in closer and more competitive bids. We invite you to attend this dynamic workshop!
