The Asian Conference on Language Learning
10 to 12 June 2011
Osaka, Japan
Organized by the International Academic Forum and
its Global Partners

International Academic Conference on Language
Learning and related fields of study. Conference
Theme: Connecting Theory and Practice
Conference Chair: Professor Steve Cornwell, Osaka
Jogakuin College

The deadline for abstracts/proposals is 1 May 2011.

Learning a language is something all of us have done
with many having learned a second, third, or even
fourth language; however, achieving proficiency in
a foreign language is not something that can be
taken for granted. Instead it is a challenge, and
one that language educators are constantly
grappling with, as we work to improve our craft
and to help our students learn more effectively.

As language professionals, we are scholars and
practitioners, and yet as educators we know that
integrating the latest in theory to compliment
what we do in practice can be a struggle. However
the rewards for both the teacher and the student
are very high and we are lucky within the field of
language learning to have strong outlets where we
can learn from each other.

The aim of this International Conference is to
encourage academics, scholars and practitioners
representing a exciting diversity of countries,
cultures, and religions to meet and exchange ideas
and views in a forum encouraging respectful
dialogue. By bringing together a number of
university scholars working throughout Japan,
Asia, and beyond to share ideas, ACCL 2011 will
afford the opportunity for renewing old
acquaintances, making new contacts, and networking
across higher education and beyond.

We hope you can join us in Osaka in 2011!
