The 17th International Conference on Distributed Multimedia Systems DMS2011 (http://www.ksi.edu/seke/dms11.html) to be held at Convitto della Calza, Florence, Italy from August 18 to 20, 2011 will offer a Workshop on Multimedia Arts. The workshop is open to all artists working in digital media including works for print, digital photography, music, works for video, interactive media works and installation works. Authors will have the opportunity to present papers at the Multimedia Arts Workshop in the DMS Conference. Papers will be published in the Workshop Proceedings, and authors' artworks related to their papers can be included in the KSI Digital Studio. In addition authors will be invited to have their artworks included in the annual KSI Art Gallery exhibition in Chicago with preferential status.

Two kinds of papers are solicited: regular papers and demonstrational papers. Regular papers are written in the traditional way to describe and/or discuss artistic approach, art theory, art hisory and multimedia techniques as applied to art, augmented by examples of related artworks. Manuscript must include a 200-word abstract and no more than 6 pages of IEEE double column text (include figures and references). All submissions must not be published or under consideration for publication in a journal or in a conference with proceedings. Papers will be evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness and clarify of exposition. Depending upon the results of evaluation a paper may be accepted as regular paper (6 pages), short paper (4 pages) or demonstrational paper (2 pages).
