Veloxian Learning & Consultancy takes great privileged in hosting the 1st International Conference on Business, Strategy & Management 2011 and we hope to provide you the magic of a multicultural experience in the City of Joy, Kolkata. The conference will be held on 25th June 2011.
The ICBSM Conference is an annual event that seeks to showcase world class research that is relevant for Global economy from academia and practitioners. The emphasis of ICBSM will be on real-world business applications. Therefore, submitted papers should highlight the benefits and applications of business and management practices that are relevant. The International Conference on Business, Strategy & Management 2011was borne to a provide a forum for disciplinary and interdisciplinary communications, where researchers (in Management Sciences, as well as in Engineering), intellectuals, policy/decision makers and Consultants would share the results of their research, studies and thoughts, with regards to societies and private/public organizations.The idea of the conference is to discuss how to solve business problems or take advantage of new opportunities from various business and management disciplines such as finance, ICT, management, marketing mgt , operations management, human resource management, international business practices, and business administration.
Accordingly, the Organizing and the Program Committees of ICBSM invite researchers, academics, consultants and policy/decision makers to submit research papers as well as position papers based on intellectual reflection, conceptual studies or real life experience.
Rationale of Conference
Financial crisis that hit the global economy recently has brought business management practices into focus in a number of ways. From corporate governance issue to improving productivity and securing organizations against shocks that start from one corner of the globe and rapidly reach all sectors in domino effect.
The 1st ICBSM aims to capture the knowledge, both theoretical and empirical which will assist in preparing organization to manage business under all environmental conditions. The conference seeks to bring out the key “game changers” for business excellence in the post recession scenario.

Author Guidelines
1. Abstract. The abstract should be a minimum of 250 words and not more than 500 words. . Full names, addresses and email addresses of all authors and contact details for at least one author should be sent along with the abstract.
2. Manuscripts should normally be of upto 5,000 - 6,000 words (A-4 size pages, typed 1.5 space and 12-point font). Microsoft Word for windows and WordPerfect are the preferred software for submission. Manuscripts must be submitted with the cover page bearing only the title of the paper and authors’ names, designations, official addresses and phone/fax numbers.
3. End notes. All notes should be indicated by serial numbers in the text and literature cited should be detailed under Notes at the end of the paper bearing corresponding numbers, before the references.
4. References. Place the references at the end of the manuscript following the endnotes. Arrange the reference list in alphabetical order of author’s surnames, and chronologically for each author where more than one work by that author is cited. The author’s surname is placed first, followed by initials, then the year of publication is given followed by details of the publication. The name of the publication (usually a book or journal) appears in italics. Following examples will illustrate the style used in the journal.

5. Tables/ annexure: It should be given after references. Figures can appear within the text.
6. Language: Language of the articles should be in English only.
7. Spellings: Follow British spellings throughout (program, not program).
8. Use of numerals: One to twelve in words, thirteen and above in figures , unless the reference is to percentages (5 percent), distance (5 km) or age (10 years old). Use 1900s and 19th century.
9. No stops after abbreviations (UK, MBA). Use stops after initials (V.P.Singh).
10. Use double quotes throughout. The use of single quotes to be restricted for use within double quotes, e.g., “In the words of Szell, the ‘the economic question’ is today ……” Quotations in excess of 45 words should be separated from the text with a line space above and below and indented on the left. Quotes should be cited accurately from the original source, should not be edited, and should give the page numbers of the original publication.
11. Capitalization should be kept to the minimum and should be consistent.
12. Declaration – Author/s must declare the originality of their work. The paper should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
13. In case of joint or triple authorship, all must register individually.
14. Review criteria: All papers will be assessed by a panel of experts. Each article will be subjected to a minimum of two reviews by two individual reviewers. Based on expert’s comments, convener of the conference reserves the right to the final decision.
15. Publication: Selected paper will be published in the conference proceedings.
16. Presentation: All selected papers are to be presented formally by the authors. Each presentation would be restricted to 10 minutes, Followed by question-answer session for another 5 minutes. The article contributed by joint authors can be presented by any one of them.
17. In-absentia paper submissions are accepted for publication if the author registers for the conference and paper meets earlier specified requirements.
18. Certificate: All paper presenters will be issued a certificate for paper presentation. All registered delegates will be issued a certificate of participation.

This journal shall provide a high caliber scholarly publication intent on disseminating research on Business, strategy and management. The focus of the journal is thus to acquaint a broad audience of readers interested in business and management issues. Therefore, the journal aims at disseminating research whose theoretical foundations are in business, management and technology. This journal shall attempt to archive research about India. It is deliberate that the focus of the journal is broad-based, i.e. focusing on business, management and technology in all over the world. The intent is to increase the scope of participation by researchers who want to report on World. It is also hoped that the focus of the journal will help in unearthing how different economies are coping or transforming within an increasingly knowledge-based society.
Given the focus of the paper on Business, Strategy & Management, it is expected that contributors to the journal will mostly be from institutions of higher learning, practitioners in all over the world, researchers with an interest in research related to the thematic areas of the journal. The readership will be the global audience (policy makers, academics, practitioners) as well as institutions (multinationals, supra-national organizations), and university libraries with an interest in knowledge.
The inaugural volume will have number of papers relating to:

IJBSM provides open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. IJBSM employs a double blind peer review process. Papers considered will have an thematic focus and will fall under three major categories:
1. Research Articles: These are full length articles grounded in theory. In these articles, the fundamental objective of the authors is to conduct empirical or conceptualize work that confirms or extends existing theories and/or develops new theories.
2. Commentaries and Cases: Commentaries are short articles that critique, extend or comment on research previously published in peer reviewed sources-particularly on issues relating to Business and Management. These articles could also present real-world cases of innovative implementation of established theories, processes and Business and Management applications. Commentaries and cases must be research-based and not mere opinions of the author. This article would typically be shorter than research articles and discuss incremental findings or actual experiences from the Business and Management field.
3. Teaching Notes: One of the primary missions of IJBSM is to contribute to the advancement of Business education in India. To this end, the journal will remain receptive to considering significant research relevant to the teaching, pedagogy and learning of Business and Management within the socio-cultural context of India.
