IV International Internet-Symposium on Sorption and Extraction (ISSE-2011) will be held in 2011 by the Institute of Chemistry FEBRAS jointly with the Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FEBRAS), Far East Federal University (FEFU), Far East Department of the Scientific Council on Adsorption and Chromatography of RAS, Division of Chemistry and Material Science of RAS, Scientific Councils on Chemical Technology and Physical Chemistry of RAS, and Interagency Scientific Council on Radiochemistry of RAS and Rosatom corporation.

Symposium Objectives:

To provide the opportunity for scientists working in the fields of sorption and extraction, especially young researchers, to share their ideas and scientific results without spending funds on travel arrangements.
To organize a virtual space for exchanging opinions on modern trends in sorption and extraction scientific development.
To continue improvement of the forms and mechanisms of holding Internet-conferences as one of the most prospective ways of communication in science.

Main Scientific Topics:

Theoretical problems of sorption and extraction.
Synthesis and study of novel sorption materials.
Novel extraction agents and systems.
Technologies of application of new sorption and extraction processes, in particular, in radiochemistry.
Sorption and extraction in chemical analysis.
Sorption and extraction in producing inorganic substances and materials.
Sorption and extraction in separation and purification of substances and elements, including radionuclides.
Sorption and extraction in organic chemistry.

Languages: Russian and English.

The participants registration and papers submission have already started. The papers will be accepted until September 15, 2011 and uploaded on the Symposium web-site after a positive review by one of the Program Committee members not later than one week after submission. More detailed information on the paper preparation and submission can be seen after registration at the section For Authors. During the whole period of the Symposium work the registered participants may pose questions to the authors, make comments and get involved into free discussion. The authors are encouraged to answer the questions on the Symposium web-site. In the course of obtaining new papers, questions, comments and responses, the registered participants will receive notifications by e-mail. Such a long term of the Symposium work (April-September) was chosen to give the authors and other participants the opportunity to formulate their questions, comments and responses in the most convenient time. After September 30 the acceptance of questions and comments will be stopped, whereas the papers will be in free access as Internet-publications. Besides, the Organizing Committee plans to publish a hard copy of the volume of Proceedings and distribute it among the participants (if they wish to have the Proceedings in paper copies) and main Russian libraries. The Symposium participation, as with a paper as without it, is free, except the case of ordering a hard copy of Proceedings. Unlike the approach adopted for regular events, abstracts are not accepted – authors must submit full papers (4-10 pages) in the form similar to that of a journal publication. Beside the Proceedings volume, the selected papers will be published in one of the top Russian journals.

We cordially invite all our colleagues to participate in the Symposium. Please submit papers and ask questions. Remember that the earlier will be the date of your paper submission, the larger number of responses and comments will you receive.
