Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee I have a great pleasure to invite you to participate in the “European Congress on Rural Health Lublin 2011 – Filling Urban-Rural Health Gaps”. The congress will take place in Lublin on May 13th – 15th 2011 in Lublin. European Society for Health Promotion “Pro-Salutem” and Witold Chodźko Institute of Agricultural Medicine are supported in organization of congress by International Association of Rural Health and Medicine.

Rank of this initiative is especially important because of the connection with the year of Polish Presidency in the European Union and the 60th anniversary of funding of the Witold Chodźko Institute of Agriculture Medicine in Lublin.

The Honorable Patron of the congress is Polish President Bronisław Komorowski. The other patrons are Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development – Marek Sawicki and Chief Sanitary Inspector – Przemysław Biliński MD, PhD. The Chairman of the Scientific Committee is Andrzej Wojtyła MD, PhD.

The Congress is addressed to all those dealing with issues connected to rural health and agricultural medicine in Poland, Europe and all over the world – in particular to the representatives of the government’s structures and leading specialists in rural health domain.

Main topics of the Congress are: zoonotic diseases; vaccines; biological, physical, chemical risks in rural areas, occupational medicine, prevention against global diseases. During the Congress the delegates will listen to dozens of speeches and lectures. They will also participate in debates and panels about agricultural medicine. For over 300 participants from Poland and abroad it will be an excellent opportunity to exchange their views and experiences.
