Description
The 13th International EMBL PhD Symposium invites you to take part at this year’s event ‘The Rhythm of Life: Cycles in biology’. The symposium will be held at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre in Heidelberg, Germany between the 17th-19th November 2011 and will include many exciting talks from established scientists, as well as short talks from young researchers, poster sessions, and a panel discussion. During these three days, there will be many opportunities for participants to interact with our distinguished speakers as well as with each other, since meals and breaks as well as drink sessions will be included in the programme. The symposium will include three core sessions; Regulatory Cycles, Cell Cycle – Growth and Cancer and Circadian Rhythms. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Leroy Hood, Dr. Albert Goldbeter, Dr. Howard Cooper, Dr. Mariano Barbacid and Dr. Patrick Cramer among others. The symposium will include a writing prize and picture prize. Please check the symposium
website for additional information on the writing and picture prizes. The winning entries will be printed in the abstract booklet with cash prizes of 500 € for the writing prize and 300 € for the picture prize will be awarded.
There are also travel grants available that can be applied for on the registration form. You will be asked to write a short paragraph detailing why you would require a travel grant.
