Kick off your shoes, move, get fit, and have fun! Come experience Nia, a barefooted fitness practice which blends dance, martial arts and healing arts (i.e., yoga). Nia is suitable for everyBODY, from the beginner to the elite athlete. Nia will show you how to really MOVE, not just exercise. Through Nia, youâ€™ll learn to move according to The Bodyâ€™s Way, that is, according to the design of the body; the way we were meant to move. This means moving away from pain and towards pleasure, all with greater awareness. Moving away from guilt-drive to desire-driven movements, training all the muscle groups instead of just the small muscle groups, creating internally directed and expressive movements. Nia emphasizes muscle balance while strengthening and training the nervous system. It allows us to not only create physical fitness, but also invites fitness of the body, mind, spirit and emotions.
