With critics grabbing the headlines following the pause in reforming the NHS, the government is now being urged to drop the terms 'GP commissioning consortia' and 'GP-led commissioning' to ensure commissioning is seen as a multi-disciplinary activity.

However as debates continue, those on the ground have not stopped working and with dozens of GP-led consortia’s ready and willing to take increasing responsibility for the commissioning services, why must we wait?

Join Emily Thornberry MP, Shadow Health and Social Care Minister at SMi’s timely GP Commissioning conference on 12th-13th October 2011 in Central London, as the future of the NHS will be discussed in an open and interactive keynote session.

Our key speakers includes:

• Val Moore, Implementation Programme Director, NICE

• Richard Lomas, National Commissioning, Genzyme

• Dr Muhammed Ali, National Commissioning Champion, Royal College of General Practitioners
