MAJOR TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT HITS NEW YORK
2011 New York City Open Will Attract Nationâ€™s Best
Rockville, Maryland-April 13th, 2011- The third stop of the JOOLA North American Table Tennis Tour will be in New York City, New York at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center Aug. 27th and 28th . With its roots dating back to the 1930â€™s, the NYC Open tournament traditionally attracts some of the best players in the nation.
The Jacob K Javitz Convention Center in New York City will host the NYC Open, where the Championship matches start on Sunday afternoon, AUG 28th at 1PM. Spectators are admitted free of charge.
Trailing only soccer as the most popular organized sport in the world, table tennis remains the worldâ€™s most widely played racket sport and, according to the Sporting Goods Manufacturing Association, one of the fastest growing sports in America. Since 1998, North American Table Tennis (NATT), the tournament organizer, has developed and managed table tennis events, the only professional table tennis management company in the U.S.

Earlier this year, Tim Wang of Houston Texas, won the first stop on the JOOLA North American Tour, the Western Open in Berkeley, CA.
NATT also owns and operates the JOOLA North American Teams Table Tennis Championship, attracting nearly one thousand competitors from five continents annually to Baltimore, MD on Thanksgiving weekend.
