The business environment across the globe has been witnessing an unprecedented turmoil over the last couple of years. Many financial institutions, corporations and global economies which have been the foundations of the global markets and financial structures have collapsed or are surviving on life support systems. Century old policies and fundamentals of corporate practices have retarded the bottom-line of the businesses and financial systems in both developed and developing countries. The main challenges and opportunities in the financial service sectors are where financial reforms, innovations and new tools would be required to combat the financial crisis and how should corporate and financial institutions will overcome and survive in such a turbulent environment. With this underlying intent, the National Seminar attempts to provide an opportunity to explore new vista of re-engineering needed in areas of financial accounting and reporting, auditing, corporate policies and practices, financial market structure, foreign direct investment and regulatory environment to outshine from the perils of global financial and business risk and ensure resumption of growth and stability in the financial markets and business environment in India.
First Technical Session: This session focuses on recent trends and innovations in Financial Markets in India and across the borders. It also relates to various new models and practices being followed in Management of Financial Institutions.
Second Technical Session: This session focuses on changing investment behaviour and volatile stock markets, hyper inflation, rising real estate prices, implementation of direct tax code, innovation in financial instruments, mergers and acquisitions, increased flow of foreign investment and role of regulatory agencies. All these developments are now attracting attention of academia, analysts, and practitioners from the corporate sector. So this technical session highlights all the contemporary regulatory issues relating to corporate Finance.
Third Technical Session: There are many landmark developments in the field of Accounting that has taken place in recent past. To quote a few among them include convergence to IFRS, adoption of Basel II and Basel III norms etc. This Technical session will highlight the various recent innovations and practices in financial reporting standards adopted by the industries.
