Description

The understanding of cancers has been facilitated greatly by the development of genetically engineered mice that can accurately recapitulate the respective human disease state. Mouse models have been successfully used to identify genes involved in cancer susceptibility, define "molecular profiles" for specific cancers, study the multi-step process of tumorigenesis within physiological context, and provide a platform for testing drugs and therapies. In this three day conference, leading scientists will discuss new models, developments and approaches for studying human cancer using mouse models.

Topics given special consideration include: novel methods for modeling human cancer: tumor microenvironment, modeling invasion and metastasis, the cancer-stem cell connection, genomic instability and tumor progression, experimental therapeutics, and methods for in vivo imaging of tumors in mouse models.
