Introduction to the USA Petroleum Industry - PEICE

This 2-day course is designed to provide an overview of the petroleum industry as a worldwide business operation, with specific emphasis on USA operations. Upon completion of the course, participants will understand the primary aspects of petroleum geology and exploration, basic drilling operations, production facilities and infrastructure requirements, offshore operations, and refining fundamentals.
A complete set of course materials and lunches are included.
Instructor(s): Mark Kaiser
Mark J. Kaiser is Professor and Director of Research and Development at the Center for Energy Studies at Louisiana State University, and adjunct professor in the Craft and Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering and the Department of Environmental Studies at LSU. His research and teaching interest covers the oil, gas, and refining industry, and is related to cost assessment, economic evaluation, fiscal analysis, infrastructure modeling, and valuation studies. Dr. Kaiser holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University.
