The NY Chapter of the Graphic Artist Guild is proud to announce Reboot, Retool, Refuel: The
Evolving Hybrid World of Illustration, Visual Design and Technology conference on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday September 23rd, 24th and 25th.
Established leaders and professionals in the graphic arts industry gather for this two day conference
of speaker presentations, panel discussions and one night of networking. They will discuss, teach and
explore in sharp clear focus, the vast range of tools, ideas and marketing tactics available to all
illustrators, visual designers and other creative professionals.
They will help attendees to assess their skills and evaluate the various tools, business strategies that will
help them to market themselves and be successful. They will emphasize and help them appreciate their
craft as professionals and to explore the available resources that will help them get where you want to go
in their careers.
New York City is where advertising, publishing and media all drive the markets that both shape and
influence our culture. It is a place where Graphic Artists: illustrators, graphic designers, visual designers,
art directors, web designers, developers, and other creatives come to work and look for work. All
professional graphic artists work with type, images, developing concepts, telling stories, illustrating,
art directing, creating, branding, making symbols and icons, that all drive the commercial marketplace.
And New York City is the logical place to hold this educational conference, and the Graphic Artist
Guild is the best resource to present this information to you.
Both guild members and non guild members are our featured speakers and presenters, all of them are
involved because they believe in what we are doing and they care about the graphic arts industry and
its future. It is here in New York City that for two days we will take stock, ask questions and evaluate
where the graphic arts industry is today.
Additionally we will look at trends both positive and negative that influence and impact our industry
and our futures. We will also ask where the work and jobs might be found today and tomorrow. And
we will also address how we can improve the working conditions of all creators of graphic art and keep
raising standards for the entire industry.
