The New Package for Services of General Economic Interest (SGEI) as well as the New Guidelines for Rescue & Restructuring in the Financial Sector are expected for this autumn. Therefore, both topics are on the agenda for the upcoming autumn conference of the European State Aid Law Institute on 2 December 2011.
Organised in cooperation with the Leiden Expert Group on State Aid of Leiden University, we would like to cordially invite you to attend this highly topical event.
Apart from sessions on the above subjects it also features a session on the Funding of Infrastructure and the Revision of the 2005 Airport Guidelines as well as a presentation on Selectivity.
Gert-Jan Koopman, Deputy Director General State Aids at the Directorate-General for Competition, will address the audience in the keynote speech. Other conference speakers include Helen Gonzales, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, The Hague, Finbarr Murphy, Bank of Ireland (invited), Miro Prek, Judge at the EU General Court, and Franziska Wagner, Airport Berlin-Schönefeld – to mention only a few.

The preceding intensive workshop (1 December 2011) will cover the following two topics: SGEI and Selectivity. With our renowned faculty and a strict limitation to a maximum of 25 participants an intensive examination, deep insight and interactive debates are to be expected.
