Overview
This two-day course provides a comprehensive overview of the Canadian oil sands industry. The course is suitable for both technical and non-technical personnel wishing to understand the industry at a high level, and how the various segments of the industry interact. Participants will gain a thorough understanding of oil sands resources and reserves, recovery techniques, product markets, and the important factors which will shape the industry's future.

Instructor(s): Bob Dunbar
Bob Dunbar is the President of Strategy West Inc., a Calgary-based consulting firm with a focus on Canada’s oil sands industry. He has more than 40 years of Canadian and international energy industry experience, including more than 15 years in the oil sands industry and more than 15 years as an energy industry consultant. He commenced delivery of oil sands industry training in 2001. Bob’s oil sands industry experience includes engineering and senior management positions with integrated petroleum producers, as well as Manager of Oil Sands with the Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board. Bob's expertise and knowledge of the Canadian oil sands industry is widely recognized. He is frequently contacted by the media for his views on the industry and has made presentations on Canada's oil sands industry at conferences in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia. Bob has an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has completed several management programs including the Canadian Securities Course.
