Description

The 1st International Communication Students' Symposium entitled "Communication, Culture, Ethics and Creativity" will be held in Izmir on April 26-27, 2012.

The main objective of the symposium, which will bring together undergraduate and graduate students of communication in national and international programs, is to enable students to question both theoretical and practical thoughts within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary topics related to concepts such as communication, culture, ethics and creativity, to improve their debating abilities and create a platform where they can share their critical and analytical studies. The Objectives of the symposium include having the communication students discuss and exchange ideas in search of new theories and methods.

The 1st International Communication StudentsÂ’ Symposium also aims to allow sharing of different academic approaches and applications in different countries within the framework of "Communication, Culture, Ethics and Creativity": to strengthen the communication between students and academicians by bringing them together in a common platform; to enable communication students to grasp the process of creating a scientific product through obtaining, classifying, analyzing and synthesizing knowledge; to contribute to creating a qualified source to be utilized in not only scientific but also corporate circles: to develop a synergy among participants belonging to different cultures and to increase students' self-confidence by making them realize their potential.

Papers can be on the following topics in accordance with the main theme of the symposium. Suggestions related to the aims of the symposium are also welcome and shall be evaluated.

REGULATIONS FOR ABSTRACT FORMAT Students who wish to participate in the symposium should fill out the application form and return it to the e-mail address of the Symposium Secretariat (comsym@mail.ege.edu.tr) along with an abstract (max. 200 words) and 5 key words in English stating their topics by November 25, 2011. For further information regarding the format of papers, please see: http://comsym.ege.edu.tr. REGISTRATION The abstracts and full papers together with the completed registration forms will be sent to the symposium secreteriat via e-mail (comsym@mail.ege.edu.tr). Official registration forms should be downloded from the symposium official website (http://comsym.ege.edu.tr). Co-authored papers are accepted. All participants will be provided with an official certificate. Full papers including any tables, charts, appendixes and references, should not be any longer than 20 pages. PARTICIPATION FEE International participants’ meals and accommodation will be covered by the organization. In addition, scientific and social activities as well as the symposium book will be free of charge. However, you will need to make your own travel arrangements from your countries to Turkey. Yet, if the ongoing sponsorship deals are sealed we will be able to cover your airfares as well. Registration is free. All those whose papers are selected have to register by 15 Mart 2012. If not, they will be omitted from the symposium programme.
