Presentations are usually 15-20 minutes each, followed by discussion.

Section chairs will review abstracts and notify authors of acceptance in January. Expectations for papers and presentations vary by section. Contact section chairs with questions.

Proposals for special panels are invited.

Posters displaying graphical materials associated with research are welcome.

Undergraduates may present faculty co-authored or sponsored papers. Faculty sponsors must become paid members of the Academy and, if possible, should pre-register and attend the conference.
This conference draws 400-500 scholars from colleges and universities (including faculty, administrators, graduate students, and undergraduate students with faculty sponsors), research institutes, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and businesses across Michigan, the nation, and a few foreign countries. Participants at the conference will exchange updates on current research from their own fields and have the rare opportunity to interact with colleagues from a wide range of other fields.

A couple of special features of the conference are that abstracts of all papers presented at the conference are published in our quarterly, academic journal the Michigan Academician. Also, two awards are offered for outstanding papers—the Cohn Prize in Law and Public Policy, and the Ronald O. Kapp Undergraduate Award.
