First Interdisciplinary European Symposium on
Biomedical Application of X-Ray Phase-Contrast Imaging
Hotel Riessersee in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Friday 13 Jan 2012.
We aim to set sails for the European Biomedical Phase-Contrast Imaging (PCI) Community, by combining experts and expertise from Physics and Medical Imaging in the inspiring atmosphere of the lovely ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the mid of the Winter. The one-day symposium is funded and organized within Euro-BioImaging and supported by Munich Advanced Photonics (MAP – Cluster of Excellence of the German Research Foundation). Participants from outside Europe are of course welcome!
Our satellite symposium on Biomedical Application of X-Ray Phase-Contrast Imaging will be held at the Hotel Riessersee (Riess 6, 82467 Garmisch-Partenkirchen). A shuttle service between our venue and the Garmisch Congress Center (Site of the 7th International Symposium Multislice CT) will be arranged for participants attending both events.
Prof. Maximilian Reiser, Director of the Institute of Clinical Radiology, Klinikum Grosshadern Munich, University Hospital of the LMU
Prof. Franz Pfeiffer, Chair of Biomedical Physics, Technical University Munich
Special guest: Prof. Stefan Schönberg, Director of the Institute of Clinical Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Mannheim & Scientific Coordinator of Euro-BioImaging
Call for Abstracts
You are invited to give a presentation. Abstracts will be treated confidentially and selected for presentations by an expert panel. Speakers will be registered free of charge automatically.
When submitting your abstract, please indicate in which session you would prefer to present: the Progress & Challenges Session or in the Biomedical Applications Session. However, when preparing your abstract and presentation, please keep in mind that you are addressing an interdisciplinary audience of physicians and physicists.
Please, submit your abstract to firstname.lastname@example.org by 31st Oct 2011. Selected speakers will be informed by 30 Nov 2011.
Abstracts should be submitted as word file via email in the following format: Arial, 11pt, 1700 characters max, incl. heading and incl. blanks. The preliminary program can be found here (http://www.ct2012.org/fileadmin/user_upload/conferences/ct/ct2012/pdf/PhaseContrast2012_Program.pdf)
and will be updated as speakers are confirmed. We will have four invited speakers and further presentations selected from submitted abstracts. The final program will be distributed to all participants by email.
Registration is required for all participants.
For a binding registration please use the online registration.

Please note that registrations can only be accepted through 30.11.2011. From 1.12.2011 registrations have to be made on site (subject to availability).
- 119 € (incl. tax) for participants, independent of academic level and background
- free for participants of the 7th International Symposium Multislice CT
Please, register even if participation is free for you. If you participate in both, our Satellite Symposium on Biomedical Phase-Contrast Imaging and the Multislice CT, please take care to register for the 7th International Symposium Multislice CT first as you will be asked for your registration number of Multislice CT when registering for the Symposium on Biomedical Phase-Contrast Imaging.
Registration includes admission to presentations at the symposium on Biomedical Phase-Contrast Imaging as well as refreshments during the symposium.
