The last two decades have witnessed tremendous awareness in the field of Environmental issues and sustainable development. After the historic summit on environment in June 1992 at Rio De Jenerio, Brazil more emphasis is given on the environment. In recent years emphasis has not been on survival but on a good quality of life which is only possible with the balanced environment. Unfortunately, the rapid population growth, excessive deforestation, adverse effect of climatic changes, drought, water shortage and unplanned exploitation of natural resources. Consequent results are reflected by the over all environmental degradation.
The sustainable development implies promotion of harmony among humanity and nature. So the “Sustainable development” or “development without destructing environment“ is the key word of the world strategy and of this conference.
